Growing up in southern Indiana, Laura felt a natural connection with the earth’s creatures from an early age. As she got a bit older, she came to a realization: a career in veterinary medicine was the perfect way for her to satisfy her passion for animals in the professional world! Laura graduated from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Technology to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. In addition to her duties as a Tech, she serves as Wesson Animal Clinic’s Practice Manager. In her time away from work, Laura is an avid landscaper and gardener, and grows much of her family’s own food right in her backyard. Along with her husband and two children, she shares her life with a pair of cats named Butters and Kitty Pity as well as 10 chickens: Nike, Dorothy, Marigold, Ruby, Lucy, Spot, Hazel, Chestnut, Mrs. Buffington, and Bo Peep.

Debbie recalls rescuing dogs, cats, birds, and even a possum while growing up here in Mobile. She’s had a deep connection with the earth’s creatures ever since she was young. Now, she’s cared for pets as a veterinary professional for more than 25 years! Debbie was first inspired to work in veterinary medicine when she took her own dog to the vet’s office for vaccines. That very day, she started talking with the technicians about their work, and interviewed with the clinic’s doctor shortly afterward. It didn’t take long for Debbie to start assisting around the hospital, and she hasn’t looked back since. Debbie’s favorite part of her job is the lasting relationships she’s formed with the area’s pet owners over the years; many of them are more like family than clients! She’s also fond of greeting new visitors to the clinic and getting them started off on the right paw. At home, Debbie lives with two wonderful cats of her own. JuneBug is a calico who was born right here at Wesson Animal Clinic, and Chili was given to Debbie by a friend six years ago.
